Understand Concepts Before Formulas
The most common mistake in NEET Physics preparation is memorising formulas without understanding the underlying concept. NEET questions often present familiar situations in unfamiliar ways โ a formula alone will not help you recognise the approach. Build conceptual clarity first, then anchor it with the relevant formulas.
High-Weightage Topics
Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Optics (Ray and Wave), Modern Physics (Photoelectric effect, Bohr's model, Nuclear physics), and Mechanics (Laws of Motion, Work-Energy, Rotational Motion) consistently contribute the most questions. These six areas alone can account for 25โ30 marks. Prioritise them heavily.
Dimensional Analysis as a Safety Net
When you are unsure of a formula in the exam, dimensional analysis can help you verify or derive it quickly. Practice checking your formulas dimensionally โ it is a skill that pays off under pressure and can save you from silly mistakes.
Solve Numericals Daily
NEET Physics typically includes 10โ15 numerical questions. These require practice โ you cannot develop problem-solving speed by reading theory alone. Solve at least 10โ15 physics numericals every day, varying the topic. Time yourself to build exam-pace awareness.
Do Not Skip Modern Physics
Many aspirants deprioritise Modern Physics (Dual Nature, Atoms, Nuclei, Semiconductors) because it feels abstract. However, these chapters are relatively concept-light and highly scoring. A few hours of focused study on these topics can yield 3โ5 reliable marks in the exam.
